About Dr. Stevane
Person-Centered Support
Dr. Jen Stevane is a board certified general surgeon with over two decades of clinical and research experience in surgery and the operating room. She developed this unique holistic approach in 2020 when she realized most surgeons (including herself!) overlooked the mind, body, and spirit of patients.
After experiencing the limitations of conventional medicine, Dr. Stevane established her private practice and wellness center in Bozeman, Montana to redefine what surgical care and support can be. Each patient receives a bespoke, integrative plan designed to prepare the body, restore balance, and promote complete healing—inside and out.

Greater Peace of Mind and Body
I had the great fortune of being referred to Dr. Jen Stevane by my physical therapist, who was one of several practitioners I had been seeing to help “put me back together” after a botched appendectomy led to major surgeries and several hospital stays 2 years ago.
At 68 and generally healthy, I had relied on holistic healthcare for decades, resorting to conventional medical treatment only when absolutely necessary. The surgical error took me a year to recover from and left me with one notable “side effect”—an abdominal hernia, which fortunately did not require immediate surgery.
I was unsure about getting surgery after talking with my regular surgeon and knew how difficult it was to pry out of most doctors the necessary information to make an educated decision and avoid “surprises” down the road. So when the prospect arose to consult with an integrative surgeon who could offer me options based on my unique personal needs and condition, I was relieved and hopeful.
When I first met Dr. Jen, I immediately felt comfortable. She is open, a great listener, and nonjudgmental, so sharing my deepest concerns and asking whatever questions I’ve had has been easy. Plus, she asks you the right questions to make sure that she has a complete picture of your situation. It’s a mutual effort that empowers the patient—what a welcome change!
Dr. Jen is knowledgeable about nutrition and supplementation and understands that it’s essential for your system to be functioning optimally before surgery to ensure a successful outcome and to minimize painful complications afterwards. She explained the complexities that my particular surgery would involve in a straightforward yet compassionate way. Knowing that she has performed these types of surgeries for years, I feel confident that I can trust her insight and guidance.
She is supportive of my choice to hold off on surgery for the time being since my condition does not endanger me in any way, while we have regular appointments to monitor how I’m doing.
Facing surgery can be a frightening, confusing, and lonely experience. For greater peace of mind and body, I would highly recommend having Dr. Jen on your team to support you along the way.
